![]() It poses in all the ways the original couldn’t and even better than the T30 deluxe in some ways. ![]() ![]() As it is, he does the job, looks the part, poses well, and I'm good with this guy representing one of my favorite takes on Starscream. Also the lack of Swindle but considering how badly the Micromasters apparently bombed, coupled with the restrictions of toy production in today's economy, I can't say I'm too terribly surprised. My major complaint with the figure is, as many people have said, the fact that the budget for the two swords could've better been put to one unfolding wing sword. The original toy is great fun, but it's also huge and I don't think I have the shelf space to buy it again multiple times over (although the Sam's Club two-pack deco certainly tempts me.) The Legacy release accomplishes what it needs to in my eyes, being a poseable update of the original figure that is screen-accurate enough to capture his brooding persona. Maybe I'm just a pleb with no standards, but I think I'm okay with this guy, and that's due in part to already owning the original mold in the form of Universe Ramjet. ![]() I wouldn’t expect it to surpass the original 1 for 1, rather it does something the original didn’t and looks better than the T30 to me, just 3/4 of the way there rather than being a home run. It’s definitely not all it could’ve been but it gives me a bigger and fully articulated Armada Starscream. They weren’t complex on the T30 and it’s surprising to not see them on the Legacy version. I would’ve rather seen the small Star Saber omitted and seen simple retractable landing gear integrated instead. Now we have one that’s bigger than the T30 but surprisingly doesn’t carry all of its strengths. We got that in the T30 line but it was a figure smaller than I preferred. While the gimmicks were neat, I always wanted to see a fully articulated figure of Armada Starscream. I have the original and have always liked the character design. It’s clear it was never meant to do that. To me, expecting this Legacy Armada Starscream to surpass the original 2002 figure in all areas is just a setup for disappointment(especially if you’re content with the original). ![]()
